Immersion Temperature Probes

Note: to go to the page of a certain model of a probe, point the cursor on an image and click it.

Immersion temperature probes of 1-3 and 1-4 series are used to measure temperature in liquid, gas-like and air environments. The temperature probes may go with various hex fittings for installation, with a thermowell and a thread boss in a kit. The transmitter with 4-20 mA/RS485 output can be mounted into an industrial head.

1-31-3а1-3h1-3p models have a free hex fitting. Hex fitting material of those models is galvanized steel 20 (steel 304 on order). 1-3n and 1-3nа have a welded hex fiting, which is welded to the sheath of the probe. Hex fitting material is steel 304. 1-3p model has a spring loaded hex fitting ensuring the tight contact of the probe with bottom of a thermowell or measuring surface. 1-3v and 1-3f have a flange joint to mount at an object.

There are two types of the industrial head for the temperature probe: B (high temperature polyamide) and A (aluminium). Recommended type is B. This industrial head is the latest design that has a cable gland with IP67 protection.

NOTE: the table shows the maximum process temperature range, which only the immersion part of the temperature probe can operate in. The connection between the operating part and the head should stay at temperature, which doesn't exceed the permitted one: B, BX and A - up to 250°С. All types of industrial heads go with IP54 protection (type A), and IP67 protection (type B) at temperature up to 120°С. To match these requirements it's necessary to order a longer immersion/remote part to take out unprotected parts of a temperature probe the "hot" impact.

Immersion temperature probes of 1-5 and 1-11 models are the most common models with an output cable and a hex fitting. These temperature probes are designed to measure temperature in different industrial processes. Material of the sheath of the temperature probe is steel 321. 1-5 and 1-11 models with an output cable RE can have the intrinsically safety Exia property.

1-5 and 1-11 models have a fee hex fitting. Material of 1-51-5r1-5p1-111-11а1-11p models is galvanized steel 20 (AISI 304 on order). 1-5n and 1-11n models have a welded hex fitting, which is welded to the sheath of a probe. Material is AISI 304. 1-5p1-11а and 1-11p models have a spring loaded hex fitting ensuring the tight contact between the probe and a bottom of the thermowell or measuring surface.

1-5r and 1-5l models have sealed M12 thread connector (IP67) to connect an output cable to the probe (a connector goes with a probe). M12 connector has collapsible design. The cable connects using screw terminals. There are two types of the connector: straight along the sheath axis (M12FD) and angled (M12FA), with the output cable at an angle of 90°.

If there is a need to keep features of the temperature probe at operating range it's necessary to choose corresponding output cable type, process temperature range, the number of conductors and the type which corresponds the chosen temperature probe. To do that, go to the page Cables for Temperature Probes and choose the corresponding cable type.

NOTE: the table shows the maximum process temperature range, which only the immersion part can operate in. The connection between the immersion part and the output cable should stay at temperature up to 250°С. For 1-5r and 1-5l models the connector should stay at temperature up to 120°С. To match these requirements it's necessary to order a longer immersion/external part to take out unprotected parts of a temperature probe the "hot" impact.

NOTE! If there is a need to calibrate / verify a probe in the calibration laboratory, please, mention it in the order application. This service is paid.
